CIVIC AFFAIRS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —What things require doing in Hamilton? We have Garden Place Hill, and the matter seems to be in abeyance, l’or the local champions have ceased from urging this problem to finality. We notice that much is being done with concrete. The kerbs are looking well, but the citizens still walk in mud along the streets where kerbing is being laid down. We have brightened up the approaches to the borough, but we have not enlivened the social amenities of the burgesses. I-Ire we have nearly 20,000 people, and houses are increasing; but we do not move toward* having a radio station. No community sings; a job to get an operatio society going. Where is our progressiveness? The fault is not with the Borough Council; the fault is with the citizens; so what about it?—l am, etc., BURGESS. Hamilton, July 22.
