l TROUBLE AT DANCE. ‘ ‘ l l DOORKEEPER ASSAULTED. ‘ l —_ l l ASSISTANCE FROM POLICE. ‘ l l l —— l Police assistance was sought by the 3 proprietors of a dance in the Frankton Town Hall on Saturday night, when a brawl developed late in the eveninsIt is understood that two men, whom it is stated were under the influence of liquor, tried to enter the hall without paying and when they were accosted by the doorkeeper it is alleged that they assaulted him. It was stated to—ilai‘ that the dance officials noticed a scuffle at the door and when one went to investigate he found the doorkeeper on the floor with two men fighting him. He separated them and as further trouble looked likely he put the men out and then went for the police. When he returned he found that another flght had taken place and one of the contestants was ‘being placed in a car with his head ibadly cut. l A version of the aflray outside the hall was given by an eye-witness who sold this morning that the two men who assaulted the doorkeeper we're also concerned in the other light. Ap—parently one of them tried to get his friend away when the proprietor went “or the police but the friend refused‘ ‘ to go and it is alleged that he struck his friend. This enraged the man who was trying to save Ihim from further trouble and ‘he threw him over his shoulder causing head injuries.
