Improved weather conditions may be expected to-day, with lower temperatures; northerly winds prevailing and heavy showers. The Rainfall. Rainfall for iS a ours ended 9 o’clock this morning, 1.95 m. Rainfall fur previous 2i hours, .llin. Total rainfall for July to date, 4.85in. Average rainfall for July, 4.83in. Rainfall for year to date. 32.68in. Average yearly rainfall, 46 32in. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist). The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valiev is as follows: Forecast: Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds. Weather cold and changeable with showers, but later improving. Seas rather rough to rough. General Inference: A depression is now passing eastward oft' the Dominion and an anti-cyclone is advancing across the north Tasman Sea.
