LADIES’ HOCKEY.

VISIT OF SCHOOL TEAM. DR.\\V WITH TECHNICAL COLLEGE. Girls' teams from the Siratl’ord Technical High School and the Hamil—ton Technical High School contested a hockey match at Boyes‘ Park on Saturday, the result being a draw, both teams scoring six goals. The game, was played on a water—logged ground in heavy, driving rain, yet brightness and tactical play were not sacrificed to the conditions. The excitement, did not. \\'aue from the first :huliy to the final whistle, the tide of fortune flrsl. favouring the home team, who at one stage were leading by [our goals, and then turning for stratford to equalise in the closing stages. Spectators, generally speaking, wit—nessed one 01’ the best ladles‘ matches of the season. The most prominent players were Miss Stoekman (Strat—t‘ord) and Miss Bradley (Technical) The eagerness of the visitors‘ forward line, superior to the standard set by local teams, embarrassed the Tech—nical backs, but the latter's potential attacking line showed that it could retaliate, Miss Bradley (bullie) and Miss Kurth (left. inside) perpetrating some spectacular moves. ’l‘hroughout, the game the former gave an outstanding performance. Uutwitting her oppon—ents thy cleaner stick work, she was responsible for more than half of the total 01' goals. staunch play by Misses Finlayson and Thoms, the Stratt‘ord bucks, es—tablished a sound \dei'enee that \\'as not easily broken through. ’l‘heir for—‘ wards had many advantages through sound hitting from the back line. The same concluded when the field‘ become almost. unplnyable. The visit—ting team in o. gallant recovery pressed persistently and were successful in eliminating the margin of points in the last few minutes. Six scores each were registered.
