APPLYING THE GLO‘SURE.

(To the Editor.) Sin—After reading Mr McMillan‘s letter of July 14 any further debate with him is futile. Mr McMillan erroneously credits me with statements that I do not make. I do not declare Mr MoMillan's deflni—tions incorrect. The Oxford Dictionary proves that point. “Natural laws never so out of date," says this contributor. \Vell, who said they did? Idid not. Irepeat that the factor of economic rent, which is a tax, is man made. It is not in the Ten Commandments, nor is it in the two great laws of Jesus Christ. Mr McMillan can study the past‘ but he must face the evolution of science and industry. He must face the fact that the land power has given way to money power. I cannot stress too strongly the fact. that people lack money, not land. They desire food, clothing, etc., not stones or ground. And why bring in Papal infallibiiity? it is poor humour, Mr McMillan.—l um, etc., - MARCUS JAMES. Hamilton, July 17.
