Three soldiers have escaped from in German prison camp and return to London at the height of the Armistice celebrations. They call at the pay office and are informed that they are "dead"—the army records cannot be wrong—and there is consequently no money for them. At first astounded by this attitude or omeletdom, the trio—e Cookney, an American. and “Spoofy.” an unknown shellshooked individual euflering from loss of memory—decide to exploit their plight. and this is done in a manner that proves highly enjoyable to the lendienoe. There are many oomplioaa tions which make for enjoyable enter- J telnment. Beryl Mercer as the} mother, Claude Alister as “Spoofy.” Charles McNaughton as the Cockney, and Richard Arlen as the American soldier form a line combination.
