HAMILTON CLUB.

Owing to a late spring the opening date was a little later than usual. Something new in treatment. designed 'to strengthen and revive the grass, was undertaken at the end of the season and it is hoped even better results mill he obtained next year.“ Regret was expressed at the death or Mr Thomas Hitchcock, who passed away about a month ago. .Oompetltion Suoousu. > Players from the Hamilton Club were again successful in winning the Centre Tournament, honours going to a team skipped by \V. Robinson. The remainder of the team comprised M. Gall. J. Anchor and J. Cieary. In the New Year tourney a Hamilton Club‘ team consisting of Messrs C. Little (5). M. Gall, \\'. M. Horton, and Irvine contested the final with the subsequent winners, Te Awnmutu (Gee (s)I North, Clark and Davis). Two of the club's players succeeded in reaching the semi-finals of the Jacob Wright singles, G. B. Evans and W. Lambie. the former subsequently winning the trophy from \V. Coutts (Frankton Railway). The Waikato Bowling Shield was won from Loamington and the team, comprised of W. Chapman (5), S. R. Hawken, D. Andrews, and R. Conradi, withstood subsequent challenges. . Club competitions proved popular and the annual match for the Thom—son Shield had been played with the Carlton Club at Auckland, the home team proving successful. Inter-club games had also been decided. The report con-eludes with an expression of appreciation of the. services rendered by the committee.
