L. \V'alton, SM. i‘hls morning and was fined a total of 215 and his license was cancelled for twelve months. ' The accused was a Maori. Osborne: Ilura, who pleaded guilty. Detective McVYlilrter stated ihat the speed oi’ the accused's car was descrlbed as terrlno, while a friend who had beenv in town with him on the day of ihe aevideni said the accused was so intoxicated that he prevented him using his car unill later in the day. l
Counsel said the accused's recollection of the incident was very vague although he remembered hitting something.
