SPEED BOAT CARNIVAL.

V A meeting of the Hamilton SpeeS Boat Carnival Association took place last evening for the purpose of promoting a carnival, which is now likely to become an annual fixture. Mr A. M. Bisley occupied the chair. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr C. Holloway; president. Mr A. M. Bisley; vice-presidents, Messrs A. E. Sand ford, E. L. Watkins. R. Sweet, B. McLean, »L. Sargent; commodore. Mr L. X. Sargent; judges, Messrs C. E. Holmes. A. M. Bisley; handicapper, Mr A. McLean; starter and umpire, Mr B. Sandos; river marshalls, Messrs D. Hare and F. Pickup; timekeepers. Messrs G- B. Paterson and 11. Blyth; lion, secretary, Mr L. Skeet; treasurer. Mr T. Caskey, executive, Messrs K. Halliday, W. V. St. George, H. E. Nicholson, Hughes. B. Palmer, A. McLean, Holmes. E. L. Watkins. F. Pickup. 1. w St. Glair, W. Davidson, ex ofllclo. The earliest date that could be fixed for the carnival lo take place was March 28. other attractions being conducted on Saturdays prior to this. It was moved that the charge for admission be one shilling, and that the proceeds of the day be allotted to the boathouse building fund. Preliminary arrangements were left in the hands of various sub-com-inittees which were appointed, other major points such as the drawing up of the programme, and the adoration of the prize money being finalised. Technical matters pertaining to the racing of motor-boats, were discussed and on the motion of Mr McLean, it was resolved that each event would comprise two heats, points to bo awarded for performances in each. The events will include four outboard and three launch races and a novelty relay event.
