STOCK SALE. AT MATAMATA. The Farmers’ Co-operativp. Auc- ] tioneering Company, Limited, report ] having held .thelr fortnightly stock sale on Wednesday, when a full yard- J ing of sheep came forward. Fat lambs came in in average numbers. Competition was keen and late rates fully maintained. The entry included the advertised line of 800 lambs offered on account of Messrs Irvine Bros., the total line being sold at satisfactory prices. A smaller entry of fat ewes and wethers showed no appreciable variation in values. There was a medium yarding of breeding ewes, j comprised mostly of sound mouth ' ewes. Competition was fair and a total clearance resulted at late rates. Cattle: There was a heavy yarding of all classes of cattle. The entry included a number of good quality fat cows and heifers, for which competition was brisk. Values accordingly showed an improvement since the previous report, whilst medium quality also sold firmly at late rates. A heavy yarding of boner cows and potter bulls were keenly sought and values remained firm. A number of cows with ■calves at foot were penned. Good quality cattle evoked brisk enquiry, whilst poorer sorts, although dull of sale, sold fully up to rates ruling at other centres. Pigs: There was a full yarding of fat and store pigs. Baconers were again in demand, late high rates prevailing. Competition for stores and weaners was dull, with a resultant drop In prices. ADDINGTON MARKETS. PRICES GENERALLY FIRM. At Addington this week values were generally firm. The fat lamb entry totalled 2860. Export buyers operated to the higher schedule brought into .force at the beginning of the week, and were paying up to Bid for 361 b, ■with a rise of id over other weights. Values: Exti’a prime heavy lambs to 31s 7d, prime heavy 26s 9d to 29s 3d. prime medium-weight 24s 9d to 26s 6d, ordinary 21s 6d to 24s 6d, light 19s 6d to 21s.
