A KNIGHT OF THE ROAD.
NEW ZEALAND LEGACY. (From a Correspondent). LONDON, January 18. A story appears in West of England newspapers about Mr Sam Mills, a Western Valley character, who is staled In have had a substantial legacy left to him by a brother in New /calami. Sixty-four years of ago, lie is described as a native of New Zealand. Asked wliat he. intended-to do with the legacy, he replied;
“I am going to spend it all.*’ Ho explained that he had been tramping Hie roads or the Western Valley for many years, but had once worked in I lie pits and tin works of the district. The amount of the legacy has been variously staled. Sam said that he had spent £OOOO in four months, and now had over £7OOO standing to his credit at a Worcester hank. In New Zealand he married a Maori, who is now dead. He lias relatives in . Worcester, hut intends visiting New !
