HUMAN OSTRICH.
BOY BWALLOWS MARBLES. A 13-year-old Sheffield boy. Colin ! Smedley, swallowed 25 glass marbles and 10 steel ball bearings. Later he declared that he had never had a pain, or been any the worse for it. “Some of my friends bet me that T couldn’t swallow a handful of marbles.” the boy explained. “So I swallowed them one at a time, and within a few minutes had taken 21. I swallowed the ball bearings several months ago.” Colin subsequently took on another bet, but a woman rushed him to Sheffield Royal Infirmary after he had swallowed four marbles. Doctors found that five marbles were still inside him. He was allowed to go home after j treatment.
