POWER DISPUTE.
GENERAL CONFERENCE. PALMERSTON NORTH PLAN. A P VICE OF MINISTER, i By Telegraph.—press Association.) # PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The Mayor of Palmerston North, Mr \. E. Mansford, states that as the outcome of a conference held In Wellington yesterday between representatives of the Palmerston North City Council and the Minister of Publio Works concerning the dispute between the Council and ManawatuOroua Power Hoard over charges for electricity, it is now probable that a general conference will be held to discuss the position as it affects not only other supply authorities and other Power Boards, but also the Public Works Department. After discussion the Minister considered the question was so involved that, a general conference would be advisable. Other municipal supply authorities were or would shortly be affected by the expiration of supply contracts.
