In connection with the destruction of the Gannet plane a terrible speci tacle was presented to the searchers. Two burnt bodies partly ejected from the wreckage, and two others were i in the ashes. j Mr Eagle's body was fifty yards ; away, with the skull and'leg fractured, j Apparently he died from injuries. I The area for sixty yards was strewn i with wreckage and wearing apparel. Several trees • contained pieces of wearing apparel and remnants of ties ! and towels.
