BRIDGE EVENING.
FUNCTION AT NGARUAWAHIA. A bridge evening convened by the president, Mrs D. R. Welch, and committee of the Ngaruawahia branch of the Plunket Society, was held recently in the Orange Hall to raise funds for the building of a plunket room. Ten tables were occupied, the winners being:—Ladies: Mrs S. Johnson, runnerup, Mrs Caldwell; consolation, Mrs Lightbourne. Men. Mr S. J. Webb. Those present were :—Mesdames D. R. Welch, G. B. Isdale, F. Hall, A. Potter, R. D. Duxfleld, K. S. Caldwell (Hunt-ly), W. Paterson, C. E. Wilson, F. Littleproud (Huntly), H. J. Sampson. R. McFarlane. E. Fuller, H. Dell, E. Masters, Lightbourne (Huntly), Jacobs, H. D. Sampson, W. McGruer, S. Johnson, J. D. Joy. Misses E. Ensor, V. Edge, M. White, E. Saulbrey and E. and I. Gerrard.
