SPORTS MEETING ABANDONED. At a representative meeting or the sports committee held at Plrongia i! was unanimously decided to abandon the sports meeting- at Pirongla this year as it was 300 late in the season to get a suitable ate. (t was decided to begin operations early next year. Aloxnndra Play-readcra. A meeting was held on Friday night at Mr Wood’s residence to form a play-read-ing club A number or interested resiv dents attended and a club was formed, taking the name or “ The Alexandra Play‘ readers.” - The omcers were elected as follows: Presldent, Mr Wood; secretary and treasurer, Mrs G. Bainbridge; casting omcer, Mrs Wood. Meetings will take place on the first Tuesday ineach month.
