WOMEN'S DIVISION.

TE MATA BRANCH. The Te Mata branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union began their new business year on Thursday with a very well attended meeting. The chief business was deciding what form of entertainment to use for the annual effort in aid of community chest funds. It was eventually decided to hold a “bring and buy” afternoon in the hall on February 27. The president then gave an account of the conference recently held in Hamilton, which was listened to with much interest, and brought on some lively discussion with regard to matters dealt with at the conference. A letter of thanks and appreciation from the secretary of the Blind Institute for the splendid result of the sale of Blind Institute work held by the Te Mata Women’s Division was read by the secretary. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames B. Phillips and Nicholson.
