CHRISTMAS PARTY.
UNEMPLOYED WORKERS’ SOCIAL. A Christmas party was held in tha Toorak Hall last night under the auspices of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Unemployed Workers’ Movement. About 200 children attended, and they were provided with toys from a heavily laden Christmas tree. Before the programme for the evening commenced Mr C. A. Barrell, M.P., addressed the gathering and congratulated those who had made the festivities possible for the children. Enthusiastic cheers were given for Mr Barrell. During the evening musical items were given by the children and by the Working Men’s Club Orchestra. After nine o’clock the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. The arrangements for the evening were in charge of Mesdames T. Collins and T. Warren.
