PERSONAL.
Flying-Officer F. R, Newell, Reserve of Air Force Officers, of New Plymouth, returned to New Zealand by the Strathaird yesterday.
Messrs J. A. Malcolm (Melbourne), A. Jones and R. Sharrow (Sydney), were at the Hamilton Hotel to-day.
Hamilton Hotel guests include Messrs 11. S. Wilding, C. Shuttleworth, 11. N. Tucker, H. E. Tucker, A. Lichtenstein (Auckland), and J. Dixon (Paeroa).
Mr Frank" R. Bushel], of Wellington, has been appointed superintendent for New Zealand of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, in succession to Mr W. T. Essen, who Is retiring on superannuation owing to ill-health. Mr Bushell is at present acting-superintendent stationed at Wellington.
The Rev. G. E. Moreton has been granted one year’s leave of absence from ttic chaplaincy and secretaryship of the Auckland Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society and will leave on a health trip to Britain by the Monowai on February IU. Captain S. R. Banyard, of the Church Army, and Mr L. Armitage will take charge of Ihe work during Mr Morelon’s absence.
