PASTOR FAREWELLED
REV. F. A. PARRY’S DEPARTURE. GOOD WISHES OF CONGREGATION. The Rev. V. A. Parry, who is shortly leaving for Grcymoulh, was accorded a rousing farewell by the members of the Hamilton Baptist Church where he has been stationed as pastor for some years. Mr R. Dunipace, who presided, said that Mr Parry had been given new rcsponsiblitics by his selection to extend the work of the Baptist Church in Westland —a task for which lie was most fitted. In ills work at Hamilton Mr Parry had proved himself to be a most successful pastor. The Rev. Flelt of Morrinsville and Mr Smyth of Cambridge also added a testimony to the manner in which Mr Parry had performed his duties and the departing minister was presented with a silver cake dish by Mr Smyth on behalf cf the Cambridge church. The Rev. S. J. Atkins, speaking for tho Ministers’ Association, said that Mr Parry’s departure was genuinely regretted by his associates in other churches, lie was keenly interested in all movements Unit meant social and spiritual betterment and had been an enthusiast for the cause of the Bible in Schools League. Representatives of the. various church arlivilies also spoke, eulogising Mr Perry's ministry, and the presenlalion of a cheque was made lu Mr Parry by Mr Woodward, the senior eliler of the church. In reply, Mr Parry lliaiiked the members of the church for their kindness and paid a warm tribute to the work that had been carried out by the ciders of the church during his two years’ term of office. Referring to his new charge, ho said that he was looking forward to Ihc time when there would be a change of preaching sta- , tions from Hokitika to Nelson.
