WELLINGTON, Saturday. Lamason Joined Ell and the score after the first hour was 30. Ell was bowled by Sims and the board showed five down for fifty. Lamason and Rainbird livened the batting, the latter sending Langridge to the boundary twice in succession. The hundred went up in 105 minutes, tne partnership adding fifty runs in thirty minutes of confident and attractive batting. Wickets fell more cheaply when the partnership was broken and the innings closed with IC4 runs up. Sims bowled magnificently throughout the innings to gain an average of eight wickots for 53 runs. IVIr Neville Chamberlain states that attempts at a poaceful settlement must at present be considered endod and i sanctions would have to be reverted to. If the League was to be made an offoctivc instrument of peace members must be prepared to fulfil their obligations and mcot tho risks involved. By so doing tho risk will disappear.
