MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU. WAITOMO BOARD'S ENQUIRY. The monthly meeting or the To Awamutu Electric Power Board was held at Te Axvamutu yesterday, when the chairman, Mr j. T. Johnson presided and there wero also present Messrs J. B. Tcasdalo, W. J. North, J. C. Montetlore, N. M. Lethbridge and S. C. Mackv. Leavo of absence was granted Messrs J. G. Sutherland and A. L. The resident engineer of tho Public Works Department, Hamilton, advised that the Main Highways Board were prepared to tlnd the cost or necessary removal of power poles on the Great South Road provided the value of recovered material from altered lines Is assessed and shown as a credit against the cost or the alterations. Tho secretary explained where the deviations would lie made and what was likely to ho done In alterations. The cleetrical foreman In Uls report drew attention to Instances of farmers contracting . lines whilo shirting or erecting haystackers. The Waltomo Power Board Inquired whether, In view or the difference In price offered between the two boards for a bulk supply of power, tho To Axvamutu Board would agree to refer the matter or prtro to the Public Works Department as arbitrators. The bulk supply was Intended to enable the Waltomo Board to reticulate Its area westward or Kto Klo and To Kawa towards llonlkiwl. Discussion on this matter was taken in committee and It was decided to make a detlnlte offer and to decline to take tho matter to the Public Works Department for arbitration. The olfer which was £ I ."> tier K.V.A. up to 2ft K.V.A. from Hie board's 3300 volt line, represented bare cost.
