BREAK-UP CELEBRATIONS. MORRINSVVILLE DISTRICT HIGH. The annual breaking-up ceremony of the Morrlnsville District High School was held on Thursday, when there was a fallattendance of parents and friends. The prizes were presented by Mr J. H. C.addes, chairman of the school committee, and the dux medal" was presented by Mr F. A. Pickett, president of the Old Pupils’ Association, which donated the medal. On Wednesday the Kltilkilil school children entertained their parents by holding an afternoon at -their school. The children opened by singing the National Anthem, after which they rendered some of the school songs, which were 'taught by Mr IJollnrake over the radio, Which shows the value of these lessons. Some entertaining recitations were rendered by Mary Eyre and Mary Rtickthought. After the concert Mary Eyre presented Mr Murphy, the headmaster, with a token of appreciation for the help he had extended throughout the year, while Mrs Renowden and Mrs Sinclair recoived magnificent bouquets. A very happy arternoon closed with afternoon tea. during which a silver coin collection among the bystanders was taken to enable the Form 11. proficiency children to visit Rotorua for the annual treat extended to the successful pupils. GLgN MASSEY. The breaking-up ceremony at the Glen Massey School took the form of a concert arranged by the seniors, some excellent Items boing given. At the conclusion of the concert bouquets were presented to Miss E. McLaren, who Is leaving io be married, by Doris Galr and Lola Mclntyre, and a presentation on behalf of the Middle Division was made to her by Gwen Brown, who wished her ' every happiness In her future lire. Musical honours were accorded Miss McLaren, who feelingly replied. On behalf or the senior pupils Jean Connew and Lorna Alker made presentations to the headmaster, -Mr -R. R. Nairn, wishing lilm the compliments of the season. Mr Nairn suitably replied. The National Anthem concluded the ceremony.
