Bonny Azure. Bonny Azure Is getting through a solid preparation at Takanini, and the chestnut marc is a picture of health. This pacer is one of the most promising improvers seen out for a long time, and a fine future is*confidently anticipated for the daughter of Blue Mountain King and Bonnie Bingen. Bonny Azure won a double at the Auckland spring meeting. On the first day she lost 24yds at the start of the Parnell Handicap, with the result that she was not well placed over the first mile. Her driver asked her to spring across the top the last time, and she ran up to the leaders in a few strides, and fairly burled the opposition over the last furlong. Penalised 36yds for her success, she competed in the Junction Handicap on the second day. Again losing fully 24yds at the start, her prospects did not look at all promising with half a mile to go, but she absolutely -flew when asked for an effort, and really outclassed her opponents to win easily by two lengths. It was one of the most impressive performances registered at Epsom, and as she recorded 3min 20 l-osec it is hard to say how fast she could have gone. Although not over big. Bonny Azure is a solidly-built filly, and shows plenty of bone. She should be a .very good proposition to follow over the” Christmas carnival at Epsom.
