Gibbons, presided. It was pointed out by the chairman that Mr C. Hunt had been appointed manager of the senior B team to play Waipa Country Association on Boxing Day. The offer of the Auckland Suburban Association to play a Hamilton team in Hamilton on Boxing Day was accepted. .'Owing to the inability of securing sufficient players the proposed match between Auckland and South Auckland at Auckland on December 17 and 18 was abandoned as also was a match with Taranaki at New Plymouth over Christmas. The secretary reported that the selector, Mr W. Everest, had forwarded the names of S. A. R. Badeley and R. Skeet to Auckland for consideration for selection in the Auckland Plunket Shield team. There was some discussion on the Waipa Country Sub-Association’s entry in the Country Week tournament in Auckland, the view being taken that as the Country Association was not affiliated to any association it was not eligible to play for the Hellaby Shield. The acceptance of a Hamilton senior B team to play Waipa Country subAssociation on Boxing Day was also discussed, members stating that when the arrangements were made it was ■considered that the differences between Hie Country sub-Association and the Waipa sub-Association would be settled. This apparantly had not eventuated and as the Country subAssociation had not afllliated it was decided to cancel the match on Boxing Day. Dates of Challenge. A reply was received this evening stating that if Alderman would be in Hamilton from December 16 to March 16, he would be available. The chairman pointed out that tho. coach came under the association’s ■control on December 13 and would be under its jurisdiction until well past the end of March. It was decided to notify the council nf the position and ■seek confirmation of his playing. The Manawalu Association advised that December 24, 25, and 26 would be suitable dates for the match but »

■owing to the difficulty of getting players away on December 23 to play it was decided to apply for December 25, 26 and 27.

The tentative itinerary- of the coach for this week and during January was discussed and approved. It was decided to allot Alderman to the Claudelands Club for the remainder of the ■season. The playing of the club matches over Saturday was confirmed.
