WOMAN ASSAULTED
MAN FINED £3 10s. COMPLAINANT’S STORY ACCEPTED(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ■WELLINGTON, Friday. A story that a young” woman had been visited in her home by a. man with whom she had, been keeping .company, and had been heavily punched about the face was upheld by Mr \V. E. Slihvell. S.M.. in convicting the accused and fining him £3 10s with
costs, in default seven days’ Imprisonment. Accused was James Bradcock. The woman was separated from her husband and lived as a domestic. The assault was denied, but the Magistrate accepted the story of complainant and witnesses, despite counsel’s pica that il was concocted for the purpose o l venting spleen upon defendant.
