DEATH FROM WORRY
RAILWAY MAGNATE. Y INTENSE EMOTIONAL STRAIN. LOAN OF 48,000,000 DOLLARS. (By Telegraph,-—Press Association.) NEW YORK, December 12. A message from Cleveland states that Mr Mantis Van Sweringen, who, with Ills brother Oris, rose from obscure poverty to become the greatest railway owners in America, died today, after six months* Illness, caused by "general exhaustion brought on by mental and emotional strain. ’ Recently their railway holdings, which included the control of 21,000 miles of system, was thrown into bankruptcy when the J. P. Morgan Company collected a loan of 48,000,000 dollars. The brothers-succeeded in recapturing the holdings, but the strain was too great for the elder one.
