BAND CONTEST.
HAMILTON AT EASTER. MUSIC FOR TEST SELECTIONS. The test music for the Band Contest to be held in Hamilton at Easter will be: — B Grade Selection. —“ Don Sebastiano ” (Donizetti). B Grade March. —“ Roughrider ” (Greenwood). C Grade Selection. —“ Recollections of Schumann” (Arr. Rimmer). C Grade March. —“ New Dominion ” (Reynolds). a The opera “ Don Sebastiano ” contains much fine music, many ,of the numbers ranking amongst the best Donizetti ever wrote, and some of the finest of them have been chosen to make up this selection.' “ Recollections of Schumann ” is a selection containing a collection of Schumann’s most popular songs, of which he wrote a great number. Two of Ihem, “ The Two Grenadiers ” and “ I Will Not Grieve,” are great favourites with vocalists everywhere.
