MR SEMPLE’S POLICY. NOT TO BE STAAtPEDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELUXGTOX, Thursday. The Alinister of Public Works, the i lion. R. Semple, said to-day that he ! intends to visit all the jobs and proi sportive .jobs. After visiting the East j Coast raliwuy lie intends to visit tlie West Coast of the South Island and the South Island main trunk line, j Mr Semple said lie intended lo abolish relief works on public works as soon as possible, selecting those jobs that were essential in the interI esls of Ihe nation and pulling on capable men at a reasonable wage, lie would give I hem decent conditions with a view of creating new assets ami new services to the nation. When j that was done lie expected from tho men a reasonable, return. He. said he would not he stampeded into any undertaking, bill would give all underlakings mature consideration and secure Hie approval of his colleagues. -
