THIS MONEY BUSINESS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I hope the monetary experts of Waikato, especially Messrs R. 0. Young- and -Marcus James, will immediately rush to the assistance of the lion. Peter Fraser, -Minister of Education, who has early in his ministerial career found out that lavish election promises are not so easily carried into practical effect. “The heart of Government, national or local, is finance. There is no necromancy about money. You cannot wave your arms and spirit it out of • the skies,” says Mr Fraser. Dear me, i I in all innocence, after reading the numerous letters of monetary reform' ers in the Waikato Times and listening to the glib (Utterances of Labour politicians, thought that the matter was a very simple one—“just figures in a book," to quote Mr R. G. Young—but apparently the level-headed Scot who is Minister of Education has not got the secret. The new Prime Minister is almost incessant in his appeals for co-operation, so I suggest to him that he transfer the seal of government to Hamilton, Where lie can obtain all the monetary reform advice he requires. Whether he will be able to put it into practice is another matter.—l am, etc., IAN ROSACH. Frankton, December 12.
