SPEED BOATS.
CLUB IN HAMILTON. OPENING TO-MORROW. Some thrilling sport can be assured to-morrow, when the Hamilton Power Boat Club will hold its official opening on the Waikato River. During the .past few weeks speed-boating on the river has been rapidly gaining popularity', and for the official opening 12 boats are expected to be participating. There will be three races; there being two heats to each race, and three laps of half-a-mile to each heat. The winners will be decided on a system of points. The first event will commence at 1.45 p.m., and the opening will lake place at 2.45, following which thf oilier two races will lie held. Resales the speed launches there will lie a large number of fast, light outboard motors. These machines can turn at great speed, and the crowd cai. be promised many thrills. An exhibition of aqua-planing will also be given.
