WEDDINGS

HAMILL—WALKER. The marriage was solemnise<l at St. Andrews' Presbyterian Church, Glaudelands, on November 27, between Thelma Audrey, third daughter of Air and Airs F. W. Walker, Claudelands, Hamilton, and Hugh Neill, second son of Air and Airs A. Hamill, Pungarehu, Taranaki. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert •officiated, the organist being Mr E. H. Apthorp. The church was prettily decorated with large bowls of pink and white roses, and vases of arum lilies. The bride, who was escorted by her father,, Air F. Walker, wore a graceful gown of ivory crepe and lace, fashioned on slim fitting lines, with long full sleeves. The draped neckline of the bodice was caught at either side in front, with pearls. She wore a long tulle veil beautifully embroidered and caught at the head with , sprays of orange blossom and carried a shower bouquet of cream roses, bride’s blossom and asparagus fern. In attendance at bridesmaids were the Alisses May Nisbet .and May Walker, while Peace Walker acted as flower girl- They wore charming frocks of pastel green relieved with pale pink and silver with large model hats of matching straw and carried posies of pink and cream roses. The smaller attendant wore a matching frock, ankle length, and trimmed with frills and long sash, and wore a chaplet of tiny pink flowers. Mr Mac Wilson was best man, and Mr Fred Walker (brother of the bride) was groomsman.

About forty guests attended the reoeption, which was held at the Centreway Tea Rooms. Mrs Walker received her guests wearing a navy ensemble spotted with polka dots and fine navy straw hat smartly finished with a posy of gardenias. She carried a bouquet of crimson sweet peas and asparagus fern. When Air and Airs H. N. Dr. Buxton, between Alarjorie, youngest daughter of Air and Airs G. T. Grace, of New Plymouth, and Edward BertranvMenzies, eldest son of Mr and Mrs 'B. R. Alenzies, of Napier Although the ceremony was of a quiet nature, a number of the bride’s friends gathered at jthe church to wish the young couple every pinessAliss Joan Rennell, of New Plymouth, was bridesmaid, and Air G. Lawson, was -best man. Later Mr and Mrs E. B. Alenzies left for a short honeymoon. They will take up their residence in Hamilton. HOGAN—COLLINS. The marriage was solemnised at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Hamilton, on November 6, between Eileen Alargaret, eldest daughter of Mr and Airs. E. T. Collins, Naylor Street, Hamilton East, and AVllliam Stanley, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. Hogan, Newstead. The Rev. Father Walls officiated, and Mr J. T. Battersby presided at the organ.

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a frock of tree bark crepe and angleskin lace cut on slender lines with full lace sleeves gathering at (he forearm to form gauntlets of the material tapering to a point at mitten length- She wore a veil of embroidered tulle caught at the head with a coronet of orange blossom and carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bridesmaids were the Misses Joe Webb and Aloira Collins (sister of the bride). The former wore a frock of apple green georgette with cowl neck and cut skirt finished with godets of frills and buttons from neck to waist of self same material and the latter a frock of shell pink pebble crepe cut on full lines with frills at neck forming an Elizabethan collar and finished with frills at the hem. They wore picture hats to tone, and carried bouquets of sweetpeas and maidenhair fern. The flower-girls were the Alisses Betty Norris and Alaureen Goonan (cousins of the bride), w ; ho wore similar frocks of blue and pink crepe de chine respectively, made on Early Victorian lines, and Dolly Varden hats. They ■carried posies of anemones and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Air Stan Carroll, as best man, and Mr Frank Hogan (brother of the bridegroom) as groomsman. The reception was held in the Marist Hall, which had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a brown ensemble with hat to tone. She carried a posy of roses. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy ensemble with hat to tone, and carried a posy of roses. SHEPHERD—BARTRUM. The marriage was solemnised at St. 1 Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on November 23, between Constance Pauline, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Bartrum, of Hamilton, and Gordon Dickson Shepherd, son of Airs DShepherd, Collingwood Street, Hamilton. The Rev. 11. G. Gilbert oftl- . elated and Mr Apthorp rendered the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of white celanese satin cut on simple close fitting lines to form a train, the high neck being slightly cowled and relieved with silver lame trimmings. She wore a veil of silk tulle beautifully embroidered, arranged with a coronet of orange blossoms of pink and white carnations. Miss Rene Bartrum (sister of the bride), and Miss Thelma Shepherd (sister of the bridegroom) were the bridesmaids. Their frocks were of gold celanese satin with crinoline hats io match and they carried trailing bouquets of yellow flowers and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Phil Marsh, as best man and Air Jeff Kemp, as groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Cenlreway Tea Booms, which was beautifully decorated with Iceland poppies. |Mrs J. D- Shepherd left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled in a smart suit, of pink worsted tweed with white fur cnpclets and while halo hat.
