VALEDICTORY.
EVENING FOR MR AND MRB PARKE.
Mr and Mrs J. Parke and family, old settlers of the Honikiwi district, were farewelled at the homestead of Mr Carlin by a large and representative gathering of district settlers recentiy Souvenirs of their 18 years’ residence at Honikiwi, in the form of a tea-set, clock, Maori mat and curios from the native settlers, were presented to the guests of the evening by Mr John Williamson •on behalf of the gathering. Music, song, story and dancing followed the eulogistic speeches and presentations.
Mr Parke has acquired a property in the Waltomo Valley, where he will make his future home.
