CYCLING CLUB.
MEETING AT TE AROHA. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. At the annual meeting- of members of the To Aroha Cycling Club on Thursday evening there was a large attendance and Air 11. C. Kennedy presided. The chairman referred to the 1033 sustained hy the cluh In the death or Its president, Mr Stanley Davies. Members stood in silence as a tribute to bis memory. The balance sheet showed receipts £lO7 4s 8d and expenditure £153 7s, leaving a credit balance of £l3 17s Bd. Members expressed appreciation or the state of the finances, and the balance sheet was adopted. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr R. Coulter; president, Mr .1. Harvey; vice-presidents, Messrs S. D. George, N. Quirk, J. 11. Evans, T. M. Curran, P. Pllklnglon and J. A. Hepburn; secretary, Mr R. Watson; treasurer, Mr 11. C. Kennedy; auditor, Mr J. R. Nicol; committee, .T. Nell, S, D. .George, T. Cordes, 11. Kennedy, L. Robinson, L. W. Phillips, 11. Jackson, H. Davies, J. Walsh, H. E. Tlbby and T. Wallace; handicappers, W. Godlcln and J. Nell; starter, N. lUgdon; judges, R. Henderson, 11. Tlbby, L. Robinson, T. Gaw, C. Morlson, 11. Jackson and T. Cordes; timekeepers, Messrs T. Cordes and J. It. Nicol; delegate to Northern and Athletic Union, Mr R. Watson. It was decided that tho season open on October 23 with a road race from Kenrick Streot, Te Aroha, to Tatuanul and back.
The sum of £1 Is was voted to the S:. John Ambulance, and Mr Peteisen was elected an honorary member In appreciation of his services In connection with this body. The chairman refer.ed to the silver cup, the Gllbey Trophy, handed In by Air J. H. Evans, It had been presented to the club to be won twice In succession or three times at Intervals. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs L. It. Nathan and Company, througu whom the trophy was secured.
