WEDDING.
HENSBY-BENNETT—BOWEN. The marriage was solemnised on September 21, at Holy Trinity Church, Ngaruawahia, between Beatrice May, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Bowen, of “Rata Hall,’-’ Glen Massey, and Alfred William, second son of the late Mr and Mrs Hensby-Bennctt, of Folk-stone, Kent, England. The Reverend Mr 800 l officiated and Miss Lonsdale, of Hamilton, was the organist. The church had been tastefully decorated by Mrs McMahon, with an arch and a hell of foliage and spring flowers.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a slim fitting gown of ivory chiffon velvet with train; and a cap of velvet and roses and embroidered tulle veil. She carried -a sheaf of arum lilies.
The bridesmaids, the Misses Elenora and Cecelia Bowen (sisters of the bride), wore slim fitting gowns of waterlily green ring velvet with dolman sleeves, the skirts forming trains, and large picture hats to tone. They carried sheaves of daffodils. Miss Winifred Foster, wearing a frock of moss green velvet and taffeta, carried the white silk cushion, edged with violets and primroses, for the bride.
Mr A. Macßury was best man and Mr S. Ball groomsman. The bride’s mother wore -a navy ensemble with hat to lone and carried a bouquet of violets. After the -ceremony the guests returned to “Rata Hall,” the residence of the bride’s parents, 'for the reception. When Mr and Mrs Hensby-Bennett left for the North, the bride travelled in a dove, grey ensemble trimmed with floral crepe and hat to tone. Among the guests were: —Mrs M.
