DEMOCRAT PARTY.
MR VEITCH OPTIMISTIC. WANGANUI, Monday. In a reference to the Democrat conference in Wellington, Mr W. A. Vcitcli, M.P. for Wanganui, who has been elected North Island deputyleader of the party, said that Its policy followed closely those of Sir George Grey and Mr Rallance. He said he considered that the party’s prospects were superior to those of tiio United Parly prior lo the general election of .1928. Mr Veileli added I hat he would ho a candidate for re-elcetion for Wanganui as a supporter of the Democrat thirty.
