SHEEP VALUES RECEDE. FRANKTON STOCK SALE. LARGER YARDING OF PIGS. There were average yardings of most classes at the weekly slock sale at Franktou 10-day with a numerical Improvement in the sheep and fat pig sections. Apart from small Iluctua'llons there was little material alteration In current values. An average yarding of ox beef was very firm at late rales, values in soiuo •cases being in excess of those of last v’-vveek. Animated competition resulted in prices up to £i‘2 being paid. A good yarding of cow and heifer beef was given an enthusiastic reception, prices as high as £0 I3s being obtained. On the whole prices were a shade better than last week. An increased yarding of sheep resulted hi a lowering of last week’s high rates, prices receding by is to 2s per head. Hoggets were firm at last week’s rates. Fat pigs were yarded in the best numbers this season, eliciting prices that, were slightly in excess of last
week. Store pigs were penned in average numbers and sold at ruling rates. Quotations: Reef, heavy prime bullocks, £7 5s to £l2 Us; prime, £S IPs ■to £lO Os; medium. £7 Ps to £8 7s 6d: extra prime cows, £7 to £0 lbs; heifers (extra prime), £G 2s Gd to £7 10s; lighter, £i 13s to £5 Its. Sheep: Extra prime wethers, 27s fid
to 30s• fat wethers, 25s to 2Gs Pd: prime ewes, 21s 3d; hoggets, 23s to 2is; lighter, IPs fid to 21s fid. pigs: Baconcrs, 52s Gd to GOs; heavy porkers, 40s to 4*s; lighter, 24s to 30s.
