TE AWAMUTU NOTES
GIFT EVENING. Miss Hope Civil was the hostess at a bridge party given on Saturday evening at her residence in Alexandra Street, in honour of Miss Kath Woolly, who is shortly to be married. Each guest brought a small gift for the guest of honour, who opened them later in the evening. Miss Civil was wearing a frock of black ring velvet and Miss Woolly wore royal blue matalasse. Prizes for bridge were won by Mrs J. Oliphant and Mr W. McGlvern and Mrs C. G. Downes. Among those present were:—Mesdames J. W. Civil, A. Hannah, J. Oliphant, C. G. Downes, J. B. Roberton, M. A. Heath, F. J. Bevin, R. Lockyer, L. Dunn, It. Dawson, C. W. Rickit, J. McKenzie, -S. Houston, Allan Kay, H. Wing, J. Tcasdale. Misses 11. Foclie, G. Irwin, Beatrice Monteflore, Stella Empson. PERSONAL. Miss Z. 0. Lloyd is spending the vacation at the Chateau Tongariro. Miss Christine Farcer, of Hamilton, has been the guest of Mrs S. R. Warcing. Miss Aiisa Tippett will leave this week for a short visit to her home in Whakatanc. Misses Vera Holt and Eileen Hunter are at the Chateau Tongariro. Miss J. M. Carnachan is visiting Auckland.
