Indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather to-day, with scattered showers; mild temperatures; northerly winds prevailing. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, ,02in. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .001 n. Total for August to date, 4.13 in. Average rainfall for August, 3.96!n. Rainfall for year to date, 36.89 in. yearly average. 46.3Zm. 80UTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist, covering the WaikatoThames Valley Is as follows: Forecast: Light to moderate southerly winds; weather fine and cool; seas smooth to moderate.' General Inference: An anticyclone has continued to extend across the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand, but it appears to have been losing intensity.
