(By Gipsy.) FANCY DRESS BALL. FAIRFIELD SCHOOL FUNCTION. DELIGHTFUL EVENING. A gay and 'colourful scene was presented In the Alexandra Hall on Friday evening on the occasion of the annual fancy dress ball of the children of the Fairfield School. The ballroom was well filled with parents and friends of the children, and the evening was in all ways a most successful one. The hall made a most _ attractive setting for the vivid frocking of the children, with multi-coloured streamers suspended, and the stage was massed with mimosa and fernery and bowls of pussy willow and spring bulbs. The supper-room was arranged with fern fronds and greenerx, and a delicious supper was served. To the headmaster, Mr R. E. Andrew, and the school staff the greatest praise is due for the excellent organisation of the evening and the interesting programme splendidly performed by the children. Much of the success of the evening was due to the enthusiastic work of the ladies’ committee, comprising Mesdames Paterson, Chapman, Norman, Knight, Bishop, Graney, Rintoul, McKinnon.
