DAIRY COMPANY NOMINATIONS.

Nominations Tor the two vacancies on the directorate of the Te Aroha-Tbamss Valley Dairy Company, are as follows:—• Kn 5 ward (Wattakaruru —Patetonga district), Mr C. A. Hayward (Wattakaruru) and Mr J. M. Stewart (Tahuna). No. 7 ward (Wathi district), Mr W. C. Kennedy (Waiktno) and Mr P. A. Sutton (Waihl). At the fortnightly meeting- or Te Aroha Lodge M.U.1.0.0.F., Messrs P. Bates J. Rushbrnoke and A. Douglas, were appointed delegates to attend a meeting at Morrinsville on September 2. At tho next meeting members or the Matamata Lodge are expected to he present when Indoor howling will be Indulged In. Thompaon’B Track. The matter of opening up Thompson’s track on the Shaftesbury side or the To Aroha mountain Is being considered by the Plako County Council, and tho proposal Is receiving the support or tho To Aroha Chamber of Commerce. For many years the track has been a stock route between Tauranga and Te Aroha, but latterly slips along the Shaftesbury side have partly blocked traffic. On the Tauranga side the route Is generally kept In order by the county council there, but since the advent or tho railway to that side, very 111110 has been done by tho Plako County Council. When the time arrives for a motor road, the distances from Te Aroha to to KatlKatl and Tauranga will be shortened by many miles Play Reading Circle. Mr O’, if. It was proposed by Mr Rowbotham and seconded pro ronna by the chairman that the Circle go Into recess for twelve months Several amendments wore proposed and ultimately the following resolution was passed: “That this year tho activities or Hie Circle lie confined to stage productions only, and that it he a recommendation to the Incoming committee to organise a new membership campaign In town and country.” The election of officers resulted as follows: Leader, Mr W. 0.
