THE POPE AND PEACE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —“W.L.G.” asks in your issue of August 21: “Where is the Pope? .What is he doing to preserve peace?” } In answer to those questions a further question arises: What has the world done? His Holiness pointed out in 1931 what was the trouble with the world. His predecessor, Pope Leo j XIII., pointed out the cause of our troubles 40 years ago, and every Pope since that time has done the same j thing. The Divine Master, showed the way nearly 2000 years ago. The servant is not above his Lord, and we , must expect- the same treatment, j So the Church spreads her message, 'but the wmrld prefers a Babylonian system to w’ork under which brings war every seventeen years. His Holiness has not shirked his duty; it is the world which, as ever, passes by without hped, and as you sow so you reap.—l am, etc., CATHOLIC. Hamilton, August 23, 1935.
