A CATASTROPHIC POSITION. NEED FOR INTENSIFIED EFFORTS. (Times Cable.) (Received Aug. 21, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 23. The Times’ Lucerne correspondent says that the Jewish Congress has agreed to the necessity for intensified efforts in Palestine, In view of (he catastrophic position of Jewry. It criticised the restrictions on Jewish immigration lo Palestine, and condemned Iho proposed introduction of a Legislative Council.
