Indications are for cloudy weather to-day with mild temperatures; west to northwest winds prevailing. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .001 n. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, ,02in. Total for August to date, 4.11 in. Average rainfall for August, 3.961 n. Rainfall for year to date, 36.37 in, Yearly average. 4G.321n. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the . Government Meteorologist, covering the YyalkatoThames Valley is as follows: Forecast: Strong west to south-west winds; weather mainly fair, but a few showers; especially in the ranges; sea moderate.. General Inference: An intense anti-cyclone still extends from the west onto New Zealand, but since last night a sharp depression has been passing to the south.
