WELTER-WEIGHT TITLE. NEWTON V. WOOLBTON. Tho King Country Wrestling Association executive are to be congratulated on the best house and perhaps the most interesting and successful programme they have so far organised, comments Hie Taumarunul Press on the meeting of Arthur Newton, of Hamilton, and 11. Woolston, ol’ Taumarunui, for the professional welterweight title of New Zealand. There was a record attendance in the Theatre Royal and the arrangements showed a decided improvement on those of previous tournaments. Tho shifting of the ring to the floor of the hall and the excellent seating lay-out gave patrons a splendid view of the events on the mat from all parts of the house. Taumarunui has now a •full-sized ring said to be one of the best in the Dominion. The staging is 24ft. square and the ring is 18ft. from rope to rope. The amateur events kept the public well entertained till 9 p.m. when, after an interval'for tightening the big event, was staged. Each contestaid. secured one fail and-the holder (Newton) retained the lillc on points.

Woolston’s Creditable Showing.
