STEWART AND BATES.
Employing all their trickery, and It Is well-known in the South Auckland section, Bates and Stewart, soon became a source of consternation to tho Auckland defenders. Those two on the right flank reached an early understanding and their wily co-opera-tion was the saving clause for tho homo side. Time and again their speed in developing an attack carried them Into foreign territory and had they been fed more often Auckland would not have seen so much of the opposing goal.
