HOW BEAUTIFUL A COUNTRY. TRIBUTE FROM MENUHINS. “ Australia should be more like New Zealand. If it had 10 small cities Instead of Melbourne and Sydney, it would be much more happy, for we think of happiness as resembling rural things,” said Mr Menuhin, father of the world-famous violinist, Yehudi Menuhin, when they returned to Sydney toy the Mariposa from New Zealand to continue the Australian tour. “ How hospitable they are, and how beautiful a country!" he exclaimed. "In Australia, unfortunately, you seem to be going after an American civilisation, and not a real civilisation." But next year Mr Menuhin, Yehudi and the-rest of the family will escape to this rural bliss, on their farm In California for a whole year’s holiday.
