Golf enthusiasts were unlucky in striking another bad week-end. The high wind, rising at times to the force of a gale, combined with frequent cold showers, was certainly not conducive to good golf. Nevertheless, a large crowd of members braved the elements. It is remarkable what true golfers will put up with for the sake of their week-end game. The semi-finals of flic two A grade championships were played. In Iho men’s contest over 30 tides, Ford beat Liddy i and 3 and Lovell beat Tuck 2 and 1. In the ladies’ games Mrs Ford beat Mrs Gummer 3 and 2, and Miss Scott beat Mrs Peacocke, 3 and J. The 11 mils should produce very even games, as there is practically nothing between the finalists in each section. Games in the men’s B grade championship resulted: Franks, 5 and 3; and J. Tarr beat Wright" 4 and 2. NARROWS CLUB.
