MR F. W. LUCAS. TRANSFER TO HAMILTON., (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) . AUCKLAND, Thursday, f The well-known athlete, Mr F. W. Lucas, is leaving Auckland next week to take up a business appointment in Hamilton. Air Lucas is best known because of his reputation as an All Black Rugby player, having represented New Zealand in most years from 1923 to 1930, but he is a capable allround athlete. Following a trip to England with the 1924 All Blacks, Air Lucas, a member of the. Ponsonby Club, represented Auckland a .d New Zealand whenever he was available, and in 1928 toured South Africa with the All Blacks. Ho was still in his prime when he played for New Zealand against the English team in 1930, but next season gave up active participation in the game. Since then his services have been available as a coach to his old club. Tennis and golf have been his principal sporting hobbies since his retirement from Rugby. He has been a prominent member of the Remuera Tennis Club and has won the Auckland B grade championship. As a member of the Titirangi Golf Club he reached a sufficiently low handicap to qualify for play in the Auckland championship three seasons ago. 'Air Lucas is leaving Alilne and Choyce, Ltd., where he has been employed for a number of years, to take over the management .of the Hamilton branch of Hugh Wright, Ltd.
