SOUTH AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. BOUTS AT TE AROHA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TE AROHA, Thursday. With an entry of 45 in -seven events the South Auckland championship boxing bouts were commenced at Te Aroha yesterday afternoon in tho presence of a satisfactory attendance. Mr R. Neale, of Auckland, acted as referee, and Mr F. W. Firkin as announcer.
Following arc the results of the afternoon programme:— Lightweight (9.9), three two-minute, rounds, A. Wright (Te Aroha West), 9.3, beat G. Cooke, 9.0 (Auckland).
Welter-weight (10.7), R. Cooke (Auckland), 10.7, heat G. Lysaght (Opotiki), 10.0; C. dimming (To Aroha), 10.0 beat J. Peters (Waihou), 10. G; L, Clarke (Oputlkl) 10.0 beat W. Berg (Putauuru), 10.3;R. Johansen (Waitoa) 1 o.i, beat J. Murray (Putaruru) 10.8. Sernl-llnals. —R. Cooke (Auckland) beat C. Cuinming (Te Arena) in the llrst round. R. Johansen beat L. Clarke. Middleweight (11,0). —C. Earner (Waharoa) 11.5, defeated A. Radtnovteh (Morrlnsville) 1 1.3 in the llrst round. L. Dennett (Opotiki) 11.1, beat C. Mari' (iMorrlnsville) 11.0. Light weight (9.9) ,■ —Terry Starnes (Hamilton) 98, beat Joe McCullough (Auckland) 9.3.
